Mrs. Anne Fort Stowe Southern, 95, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Brookstone Terrace of Clemmons. She was born April 29, 1921 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Sam E. Fort, Sr. and Nancy Andrews Fort. Mrs. Southern was a member of Robinhood Road Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Stowe; her second husband, Harold Southern; three sisters, Marguarite Craven, Nancy Ruth Fitts and Kate Baity. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Banks of Winston-Salem and Mary Anne Norman (Dan) of Hoschton, GA; three grandchildren, Chip Banks (Kim), Derek Norman (Gretchen) and Scott Norman; three great grandchildren, Henry Banks, Sydney Norman and Cody Norman; one brother, Sam E. Fort, Jr.; three stepsons, Mark Southern (Sandy), Phillip Southern and Joel Southern; and one stepdaughter, Joanna Blomberg. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hi Hope Service Center, 882 Hi Hope Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30043. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
