Anne Jeffords

Mrs. Anne Taylor Jeffords, 93, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022.  She was born in Stokes County, NC on December 19, 1928 to the late Dell C. Taylor, Sr. and Della Moorefield Taylor.  Mrs. Jeffords was a star basketball player at Nancy Reynolds High School and then worked at Hanes Knitwear in her early years.  She loved fishing and working in the yard.  Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard A. Jeffords, Sr.; eight sisters and three brothers.  Surviving is a daughter, Lou Ann Jeffords; son, R.A. Jeffords, Jr. (Valerie); three grandchildren, Laura Jeffords Moore (Todd), Candice Jeffords Grubb (Greg) and R.A. Jeffords, III (Alyssa); four great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel, Rural Hall, NC with Chaplain Wesley Holmes officiating.  Burial will follow at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in King, NC.  The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Carteret Home Health and Hospice, 3722 Bridges Street, Suite 201, Morehead City, NC 28557.
