WHITE OAK-Anne Spears Nifong Binkley, 76, formerly of Kernersville, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013. She was born February 14, 1937 in Wilkes Co. to the late Martin Rayvaughn and Zona Eva Cardwell Spears. Anne graduated in 1955 from Mt. Pleasant High School in Purlear, she retired from Kroger Co. as a Deli Manager after 23 years of service. In retirement she enjoyed loving and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Since moving to Bladen Co. in 2010 she loved volunteering at the Bladen Co. Hospital where she was honored as the Hospital's 2012 Volunteer of the Year. Anne loved bird watching, gardening, traveling, reading, was Fox TV most loyal fan, but most important to her was making sure her family was safe and loved. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Nifong 1997 and her second husband, Carl Binkley 2011; brothers, James Rayvaughn, Ira Dean, Julius Eugene and Ralph Ray Spears; sister-in-law, Linda Lovette Spears. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Ann Nifong, Roxanne Carroll (Thomas); grandsons, James Nifong (Christina) Jason Lackey; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christian, Julian and Taylor; sister, Barbara Spears Pipek (Arthur);sisters-in-law, Patty Faw Spears, Cathleen Spears, and Judi Mason Spears Cardwell. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Don Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Annie Binkley Volunteer Charitable Fund, c/o Bladen Co. Hospital, Attn: Ashley Dowless, PO Box 398, Elizabethtown, NC 28337 or charity of donor's choice. Anne's family would like to convey their sincere appreciation to the staff at Cape Fear Valley Hospital medical and oncology unit for their loving and tender care given to their mother. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the Bladen Co. Hospital family that visited and called on their mother during her illness.
