Anne Jackson Rigler Allison, 95, died peacefully, April12, 2021, at Batangas Gardens Skilled Care facility of Bermuda Village in Advance, North Carolina.

Mrs. Allison was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Charlotte, NC, to Cornelia Davis Rigler and Edward Jackson Rigler.  Mrs. Allison graduated from Central High School in 1943 and attended Brevard College in Brevard, NC, and Queens College in Charlotte.  At Brevard, she became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  She was known for her spelling proficiency.  She had been employed in the office of Standard Oil Company in Charlotte.

Mrs. Allison is predeceased by her husband, John Andrew Allison, Jr. (the 3rd), whom she married Feb. 10, 1946, when he returned home from serving in the Signal Corps in the Pacific in World War II.  She is also predeceased by her sisters, Jeanne Porter and Martha Furr.

Mrs. Allison was a wonderful Mother, a loving wife, a consummate homemaker, and an excellent cook.  In addition, Mrs. Allison was a kind and compassionate pre-school teacher.  She owned, managed, and taught her own pre-school for many years in Chapel Hill, NC, and in Sterling, VA.  Over the years, she and her husband were active in their church, and they enjoyed studying the Bible and spending time with their family.

Survivors include her son, John A. Allison, IV, and wife, Betty, of Lewisville, NC; daughter Elizabeth (Libby) Anne Allison of Clemmons, NC; and daughter Joyce Allison Hedrick of Winston-Salem, NC.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Megan MacDonald (and fiance Joseph Thompson), Eric Allison (and wife Bettina), Sarah Allison Tucker (and husband Ashton), William Allison, and a great-grandson.

Patricia Greene, Chaplain with Trellis Supportive Care, officiated at the private family service on Saturday, April 17, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Lewisville.  A private graveside burial was held Saturday, April 17, in Charlotte's historic Elmwood Cemetery where Mrs. Allison was buried next to her husband.
