Anna Lucille Gray

Anna Lucille ""Lucy"" Gray, age 81, of Oak Island, NC passed away suddenly Tuesday morning September 30, 2014 at Cannon Memorial Hospital, Newland, NC. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Henry Cole, Elsie Cole, her Aunt Ollie Welch, and her son Robert Van Gray. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Porter O'Henry Gray of the home, a son Bradley Gray and his wife Diane of Clemmons, NC, a daughter Lori Manuel and her husband James of Lexington, NC, three grandchildren, granddaughters, Vanessa and Kelsey (K.C.) Manuel of Lexington, NC, a grandson, Chris Berrier of Winston-Salem, NC. A cousin, James Welch of Winston-Salem, NC. Lucy was a loving and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home was always open to her children's friends and families. She was loved by many from Wilshire (Winston-Salem, NC) to Oak Island and Newland, NC. Lucy was retired from Porter O. Gray, CPA of Winston-Salem, NC. She attended Southport Baptist Church of Oak Island, NC and also a member of First Baptist in Newland, NC. She was known by many to be a strong Baptist woman. Her memory will forever be cherished by the love of her life and by family and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, October 3rd, 2014 at 10:00a.m. at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway followed by a funeral service at 11a.m. officiated by Dr. Bill Jones, with entombment to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park on Peters Creek Parkway. Memorials can be made to either church she attended.
