Anna Marie Dohleman, ""Anne"" as she was known to family and friends, passed away on Thursday, December 16, at Bermuda Village Retirement Community. She was born July 14, 1920 in Odell, NE to Frank and Anna Masek. After graduating from Chillicothe Business College, she worked for the US Army as a secretary at Fort Riley, KS. There she met Captain Kenneth Dohleman, a career Infantryman, and they were married on May 17, 1953. For the next 30 years, she accompanied him to various military posts across the country, as well as to Germany, Alaska and Korea. Throughout some 20 assignments, she was the ideal Army Wife, made a home everywhere, worked as a volunteer in the Army Community, entertained, managed the home and family during long separations and served as a role model and mentor for young wives. After her husband retired in 1983 as a Major General, she lived in Annandale, VA, where she continued to help others in the community, at St. Michael's Church and in various service organizations. She moved to Bermuda Village in 2004, where she was involved in many activities, especially playing bridge, which was her passion. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers. She is survived by her husband, son Thomas of Fargo, ND, brother Edward of San Jose, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
