Ann Tesh Cockerham

Mrs. Ann Tesh Cockerham, 100, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Forsyth County on June 3, 1912 to Henry E. and Ida Everhart Tesh. Ann and her husband, Jack Q. Cockerham were owners of Cockerham Furniture Company on South Main Street in Winston-Salem and ran the business for many years and had many loyal customers. Ann was an active member of Friedberg Moravian Church as long as her health permitted. She was also involved in the Women's Fellowship and Senior Friends, serving on various committees. Ann enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans and lap robes and gave them away to friends and many church members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Ketner (Kenneth) and Judy Sink (Tom); one son, Jack D. Cockerham (Joan); three granddaughters, Melissa Flynt (Dwayne), Suzanne Ketner, and Alison Vannoy (Jeffrey); three grandsons, Donald Cockerham (Lisa), Charles Ketner and David Sink (Denise); twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.. The funeral will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Friedberg Moravian Church. Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. and Rev. W. Norwood Green will conduct the service with burial to follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the Church Parlor. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Friedberg Moravian Church, 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. The family would like to thank the staff at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living and Hospice for their loving care of their Mother during her stay there.
