Anita Marilyn Smither Love, 80, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Anita was born in Forsyth County on November 18, 1943, to the late William Herbert Smither, Sr. and Virginia Lee Tuttle Smither. She was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School.
Anita was the owner and operator of Anita Love Tax Service, and proudly served the community as a tax preparer for over 40 years. She was dedicated to her career and continued her work up until the time of her passing.
Anita enjoyed sewing and cooking, both of which she excelled at. She also loved to travel and take camping trips with her husband and family. Anita was a very spiritual woman and a prayer warrior, who never missed daily devotionals. She was a member of Global Missions Church at High Point and loved her church family.
Most of all, Anita was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother, sister and extra special “Me-Maw” to her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Johnny B. Love; brother, William H. Smither, Jr.; and sister, Lynn Smither.
She is survived by her two daughters, Angela Love (fiancé Woody Nurney) and Lisa Love Sale (Greg); three granddaughters, Macy Presnell Howell (Jackson), McKinley Love Campbell and Ashlynn Taylor Campbell; her sister, Mary Ann Vescio; and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston-Salem, with Elder Rick Yaskiewicz and Elder Barney Yaskiewicz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Global Missions Church at High Point, 4427 Hunter Oaks Ct., High Point, NC, 26265.
Anita’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care they showed to her.
