WINSTON-SALEM - Anis Erlene Foltz died Friday, June 10, 2011 at her home at Salemtowne, in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born June 7, 1925 in Forsyth County to Stanley Raymond and Ada Boyles Foltz. She grew up on South Main Street in Winston-Salem and graduated from Griffith High School. During World War II she worked for Flying Safety at Langley Field. After the war she began her career with International Business Machines, (IBM), where she worked for 39 years beginning as a key punch operator and then a programmer. She retired in 1987 in Raleigh, NC. In 1998 she moved to Salemtowne where she was known as ""The Laughing Lady of Salemtowne."" She is survived by her brother, Herbert H. Foltz of Winston-Salem; Mrs. Ruth Crissman of Jonesville, NC; many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at Salemtowne Moravian Retirement Community on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. John Jackman, the Rev. Linda Brown and the Rev. Dewey Hobbs presiding.
