Angeline Jordan Belk, 88, died October 3, 2010 with her family by her side in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born June 2, 1922 in Tussio, Italy to Antonio and Floridea Giordani and moved to the United States from Italy in 1927. In 1940, Ms. Belk graduated from Windber High School in Windber, Pennsylvania where she was an active member of Student Council and a number of other organizations including Minstrel, Dramatics, and Alpha Beta honor clubs. In her youth, she enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, and singing. Ms. Belk followed a career as a professional secretary working in both Pittsburgh, PA and NYC. She later moved to NC continuing work in the insurance industry and was a member of the Insurance Women's Association of Winston-Salem until she retired. She was a long time member of Centenary United Methodist Church and often volunteered in the church service programs. Ms. Belk is survived by her sons Thomas and Russell Belk; daughters-in-law Lynn and Ruby Belk; grandchildren Scott, Damian and wife Holly, and Alisha Belk; great-grandchildren Chandler, Gaige, and Abbie Belk; nephew Anthony Giordani; and special friend Susie Thompson. Angeline was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons and will always be remembered for the sacrifices she made for them. She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Floridea Giordani and brothers Achilli and Forminio Giordani. A gathering of remembrance will be held for friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A Columbarium service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B.
