Our mother Angela, passed away peacefully on June11, 2021 She left behind her husband Gerald of 56 years, and three adult children, Margaret Mary (Randall Crewz) Of Stokesdale NC, Gerald Patrick of Chicago, Il and Michael Sean (Darlina Miller) of Jackson, MI. As well as, Grandchildren, Danielle and Lauren, Daniel, Amanda, Erica, Joshua and Alex, Great grandchildren, Amelia, Isabella, Sophia and Reid. Mom came from a big family; she was one of seven children. She is survived by her sisters Margaret Croke (Richard) of St. John’s Newfoundland and Kathleen Smith (William) of California.
What can I say about the life of Angela Oversen (White) born October 30, 1938, she was one of seven children of the late Catharine (White) and Thomas White of St. Brendan’s, Newfoundland Canada. She came from a small island, St. Brendan’s, off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada where a few hundred people lived. Most of the folks were fisherman and housewives. She grew up in a large catholic family living the simple life. She attended the only school on the Island, St. Gabriel’s Catholic where once she graduated later taught. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Walter, Lawrence, Thomas and Elizabeth.
Mom was a kind and simple person who loved children. She had a wicked sense of humor and loved making her family laugh. She was a free spirit, so much so, that she once said to the paramedic that came to her home after a fall that she’d burned all her bras in the 70’s and certainly wouldn’t be wearing one now. Such, was always the case leaving the house; in her glitziest outfit. Her family would describe her bold and sparkly fashion sense and loud, unforgettable laugh as “extra.” From, rhinestones to animal print, she always showed her carefree spirit through the clothes she wore. She loved her cup of tea and music filled her house always. Van Morrison, Bob Seger, Tracy Chapman and good old country music were some of her favorites. Her laughter would fill the house and was so contagious, no one was immune to her spirit. She loved having all of the family together and sharing a meal and cocktail. She is loved by all and will be missed dearly by anyone who has ever had the privilege to have met her. Her wild spirit and sense of humor will live on and she will be received in heaven by Jesus and her family. As she makes her way to greet St. Peter at the golden gates, she will be adorned with her finest, glittery garb. Keeping with her fashion and tradition, she will be without a bra. Until our next cup of tea, Mom.

Interment will take place at Salisbury National Cemetery at 9:00 am on Thursday, June 17, 2021. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
