Angela Karen Wright Foster, born October 9, 1956 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Kenneth Neal Wright and Hattie Phillips Wright. She went to live eternally with her Savior on January 5, 2011. She was married to Christopher James Foster on July 8, 1975. Angie graduated from Parkland High School in 1974. She enrolled in the LPN program at Forsyth Tech in 1974, but became a quadriplegic two weeks before completing her degree. In 1993, she completed Patient Relations Certificate from the University of Georgia, and in 1998 graduated with high honors with an Associate's Degree from FTCC. Angie worked for 16 years as a night and weekend dispatcher for a healthcare agency. In 1991, she was honored by the Mayor's Committee for the Handicapped for employee of the year and Inspiration Award. She has participated in the Think First safety program in public schools, taught children's neighborhood Bible Studies, computer skills to retired employees and English as a second language. Angie has inspired many people by her life and quietly worked behind the scenes praying, writing missionaries and doing many things on her computer to keep in touch with people in the US and around the world. She has encouraged people with disabilities and shared her experience and knowledge with them. Although Angie could not mobilize without assistance, she was blessed by assistive technology that allowed her to be independent in many ways and use her mind to be a blessing to others. She had a witty sense of humor. She could joke about her disability, like being a ""queen"" with someone to meet her every need. Angie was very grateful for all the care she received and she spent much time in prayer for those who surrounded her. Angie was lovingly cared for by her mother, family, and Kristine Miller who worked with Angie for 23 years. Angie had a firm grasp on what is important and what is not-on temporal versus eternal. She often remarked, ""It won't matter in a hundred years."" She is survived by her faithful mother, Hattie Wright of the home; one brother, Milton Wright (Tammy) and family of Clemmons; three sisters and their families, Carolyn Sink (Ray) of Lexington, Alice Baker (Bill) of Winston-Salem and Teresa Horner of Charlotte; also loving nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly and who have been a blessing in her life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8 at Salem Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 7 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, and because of Angie's heart for missions, contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church Missions Fund, 429 South Broad Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr.'s Jason Thomason, Diane Howell, Thomas Wolfe and Patricia Klein, PA and the 8th Floor Pulmonary Staff at Forsyth Medical Center.
