Anastasia 'Nancy' Ruminski

Mrs. Anastasia ""Nancy"" Ruminski, 94, of Clemmons passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born January 21, 1917 in Wayne County, MI to Maximillian and Cecelia Kozlowski Lamparski. Nancy served her country by working in an ammunition factory in Detroit, MI during World War II. She was especially devoted throughout her life to the care and guidance of her special needs son, Eugene. One of her loves was gardening and the giving of flowers. She was a very caring and giving person who was always ready to help or assist. This applied to her friends, relatives and family whom she deeply cared about. Nancy was a tireless worker who spent endless hours not only cooking and baking for her family but also working daily on the family farm caring for and harvesting fruits and vegetables. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Kotkoski and Rose Polcyn and two brothers Jerome and Leonard Lamparski. Surviving are two sons, Roger Ruminski and wife Jane of Advance and Eugene Ruminski of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter, Cindy Phelan and husband Joe of Mooresville and their children, Arielle, Braeden, Cianna and Dalten; a grandson, Greg Ruminski and wife Ann of Charlotte and their children, Jacob and Zachary; a special niece who was like a daughter, Ceci Griffin and longtime friends and caregivers, Chris Charlier, Claretta Thomas, Sandy Souzis and Mary Poehailos. A prayer service will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Michael Buttner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
