Anastasia "Stella" Gamble

Kernersville - Anastasia ""Stella"" Cousins Gamble, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. Stella was born and raised in Wexford, Ireland on February 13, 1932 to James Joseph and Anastasia Roberts Cousins. Stella was an accomplished seamstress, and an avid pianist enjoying all genres of music. She was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Stella's love for travel was shared by her husband and extended to over 10 countries, living in 6. She loved her family and had a charitable heart and tolerance for diversity in others.
In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her husband, William Ezzell Gamble and her brother, James Joseph Cousins, Jr.

She is survived by three daughters, Monika (Marty) Stanley, Dorothy (Bob) Overby, and Bernadette (Brad) Kirk; six grandchildren, Courtney (Brad) Freeman, Joseph (Kate) Overby, Anna (Chris) Barfield, Nathan (Megan) Overby, Meghan (Chris) Helms, and Kirby Stanley; five great grandchildren, Zane, Roman, and Rhett Freeman, Clark and Ford Barfield; one sister, May (Roy) Townsend of Grimsby, England; one niece and three nephews all of England.

A funeral mass will be held on 11:00 am on Thursday, June 30, 2016 for Stella at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Paul Dechant, O.S.F.S. presiding. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to High Point YWCA, 112 Gatewood Ave, High Point, NC 27262.
