Mrs. Amy Pardue Haire, 57, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 17, 1957, in Surry County. Amy was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and earned a nursing degree from Forsyth Technical Community College. She worked at Forsyth Medical Center, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and most recently in the research department at the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center. Amy was a long-time member of Ardmore Baptist Church where she served in numerous capacities. Working with the youth at Ardmore was what she enjoyed most. Amy treasured the time spent with her family and especially enjoyed the annual family beach vacations. She was at her happiest spending time with her family at the coast. Amy was a woman of strong faith and her trust in her Lord never wavered through her health struggles. Amy was preceded in death by her father, James Bueford ""J.B."" Pardue. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Eddie Haire; one daughter, Rebecca Pruitt (husband Josh) of King; one son, James Haire of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Emery Pruitt; Amy's mother, Helen Blackburn Pardue; four siblings, Suzan Pardue Wade of Clemmons, Renee Pardue Kaspar (husband Frank) of Summerville, SC, Scott Pardue (wife Barbara) of Cumming, GA and Tracey Nelson (husband Dale) of King and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Amy's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Dr. Don Gordon and Rev. Ty Talton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Duke Hospital for the dedicated and compassionate care they provided to Amy over the past three years. She was a source of inspiration for all who knew her story. She taught everyone what it meant to keep a positive outlook and remain faithful regardless of what the circumstances may be. Amy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
