Mr. Alvin Fritz Ogburn, 79, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Village Care of King. He was born in Forsyth Co. on March 4, 1938 the son of the late Paul David Ogburn, Sr. and Adis Urina Dillon Ogburn. Mr. Ogburn was a member of the Burning Bush Community Church in King. He worked for Unique Furniture in Winston-Salem for 27 years and then retired from Modern Machine Co. in Kernersville. Mr. Ogburn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who will be missed deeply by all who knew him. He was a hardworking man, who loved being outdoors and he had never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Al Dean Ogburn; and a brother, Donald Ray Ogburn. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Bell Mabe Ogburn; two daughters, Janet Ogburn Dickens (Mark) of Walkertown and Kathey Ogburn Brown (Andrew) of King; a son, Daniel "Scott" Ogburn of Walkertown; 7 grandchildren, Marcia, Thomas, Megan, Aaron, Austin, Kaylee and Matthew; 6 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Luke, Hailee, Emma, Raylen and Bryson; a sister, Shirley Gordon; 3 brothers, Alan Ogburn (Erma) who is his twin brother, Ronald Ogburn (Betty) and Paul David "Pete" Ogburn, Jr. (Joe Ann) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Mr. Mark Dickens and Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
