Alton Frederick Markland

Mr. Alton Frederick Markland, 50, of Advance passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 21, 1958 in Davie County to Paul Frederick and Mabel Myers Markland. Mr. Markland was a graduate of Davie High School and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Surviving him are three children, Chad William Markland, Brett Frederick Markland and Brooke Ann Markland; his mother, Mabel Watson (Grady); two sisters, Pat Cope and Angela Bailey (Larry); three nephews, Brian Bailey (Robin) and their children, Ben and Maddie, Kyle Bailey (Angie) and their son Collin and Adam Bailey and several wonderful cousins. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Elbaville United Methodist Church with Rev. Kirk Tutterow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
