Alton Alexander Lunsford, Sr.

Mr. Alton Alexander Lunsford, Sr., 55, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County on July 3, 1954. Mr. Lunsford enjoyed working on cars and watching NASCAR. He was an avid collector of Hot Wheels cars. Preceding him in death was his father, Lemley Jones Lunsford, Jr. and a sister, Sylvia Diane Lunsford. Surviving is his wife of 29 years, Cindy Swaim Lunsford; daughter, Heather Jo Greene (Randy) of Shallotte, NC; son, Alton Alexander Lunsford, Jr. of the home; four grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Abigail, and Reagan; mother, Betty Reed Clark; two sisters, Beverly Wood (Don) of King and Ella Gough (Buddy) of Advance; and a brother, Michael Reed Clark of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 5, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Don Anderson officiating. Entombment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
