Alma Phibbs Stanley

Alma Phibbs Stanley, 74 of Winston-Salem died Monday, November 23, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Ms. Stanley was born January 22, 1935 in Carroll County, Virginia a daughter of the late Coligny Phibbs and the late Mae McMillan Phibbs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Carol Tuttle, Brenda Martinez and son, Michael Stanley. She is survived by her children, Wanda Puckett, Doyle Stanley, and Mary Boye, sisters, Lena Matherley, Geneva Stanley, brothers, Basil Phibbs, and Woodrow Phibbs, 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, and her former husband Billy Stanley. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. David Neese officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
