Alma Mae Mullins-Lucas, 91, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Silas Creek Rehab. Alma was born on January 14, 1926 to William and Ella Prichard Purkey in Logan County, West Virginia. She retired from Forsyth Medical Center after 30 years of service as a Certified Nurse's Assistant. Alma was of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and a grandson, Danny Mullins.
Surviving family includes her five children: Alvie Mullins (Judy) of King, Jim Mullins (Deborah) of Winston-Salem, Audrey Owens (Jerry) of Lexington, Ella McDaniel (Curt) of Mocksville, and Buddy Lucas (Angie) of Winston-Salem; ten grandchildren: Annette, Laura, Jim, Tonya, Jason, Jeremy, Bryan, Brandon, Leslie, and Melissa; six great-grandchildren; one brother, John; and four sisters, Ruth, Helen, Thelma, and June. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. A graveside service will be on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Park, with Pastor Ralph Sproles officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Silas Creek Rehab for their loving care of Alma these past three months. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
