Alma Mae Miller

Mrs. Alma Mae Miller, age 95, passed away holding the hand of Branon Edwards, one of her devoted grandchildren of whom she was so proud, on July 22, 2016, in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Alma was born on June 2, 1921 in Mount Airy, NC, to parents Floss D. and Donie May Lynch. Mrs. Miller was a wonderful wife and mother. She married Robert K. Miller on June 4, 1938 in Jenkinjones, WV, and the couple had 6 children together. Her final days were made comfortable by Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, FL.

She lived most of her life in Anawalt and Welch, WV, returning to North Carolina to enjoy her golden years, first in Asheboro and then in Oak Ridge, and did she enjoy them! She spent the last 8 years in Florida with her eldest daughter. She was active in the church, gardened, and cooked wonderful meals for family and friends. She also loved reading, sewing, and decorating. She worked in retail for twenty years, and taught Sunday School at both the Wesleyan and Nazarene churches. Alma treasured her friends, and she acquired them wherever she was at the time. She had a smile that would light up the room!

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Miller; son, Bobby Miller; son, Roger Miller; son, Gary W. Miller and his daughter Cindy; and son-in-law, Roger Campbell.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Janice Miller Edwards and husband Eddie, of Punta Gorda, FL; daughter, Brenda Miller Campbell, of Greensboro, NC; son, Larry A. Miller, Sr. and wife Karen, of Ocala, FL; and daughters in law, Linda Miller, of Rocky Gap, VA, and Laura Seiss, of Alexandria, VA. She had 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren as well as great great grandchildren.
