Mrs. Alma Faye McCallister, age 69 passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at her home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. McCallister was born in Putnam County, West Virginia September 1, 1944 to Owen Sylvanis and Violet Louise Hodge McCallister. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers but, her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Alma was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents Mrs. McCallister was preceded in death by four brothers; David, Kellis, Randall, and Owen, Jr. McCallister.
Mrs. McCallister is survived by two sons; Dennis (Terri) Risden of West Virginia and Chris (Beverly) Risden of Winston-Salem. Two daughters; Jennifer (Harry) Irick of Pinnacle and Amy (David) Rogers of Rural Hall. Six grandchildren: Brandon, Brandi, Daniel, Madison, Lexi and Kelci. Six sisters: Betty, Freda, Phyllis, Lois, Janice and Teresa. Two brothers; Richard and Carlton. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. McCallister will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Pastor Anthony Moss. Entombment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 25th from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M.
