Mrs. Alma Ann Gupton, 73, of Winston-Salem passed away September 13, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1937 in Vance Co. to the late James Renn and Beatrice Wortham Hedgepeth. Mrs. Gupton was a member of Bethabara Moravian Church and retired from Piedmont Airlines in 1989. She was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and was recently a resident at The Elms at Tanglewood. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Gupton, Sr. in 1998. Mrs. Gupton is survived by a son, David Gupton, Jr. and wife Tammy of Pfafftown; a daughter, Terry Orrell of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Cameron Orrell of Winston-Salem, Mandy Gupton of Greensboro, Chris Orrell of Charlotte, and Ally Gupton of Pfafftown; a brother, James Renn, Jr. and wife Lou of Henderson; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as sisters and brothers-in-law all of Henderson. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Bethabara Moravian Church with the Rev. Don Griffin and the Rev. Tripp May officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Thomas Grote and staff and also the staff at The Elms at Tanglewood for the excellent care shown to Mrs. Gupton.
