Alma Adeline Clayton

Mrs. Alma Adeline Clayton, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Forsyth Co. on August 27, 1921 the daughter of the late John Coleman Clayton and Bertha Chandler Clayton. Mrs. Clayton was a charter member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was active in many different aspects of the church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James ""J.G."" Clayton and three brothers, Jack Clayton, Lee Clayton and Howard Clayton. Mrs. Clayton is survived by two sons; James Clayton (Ava) of Pinnacle and Norris Clayton (Kathleen) of Winston-Salem, three grandchildren; Christopher Clayton (Kim), Matthew Clayton (Denise) and Patricia Clayton, three great-grandchildren; Bethany Clayton, Brett Clayton and William Clayton, two brothers; Emmitt Clayton (Ruth) and Don Clayton (Shelby) and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Clayton Family Cemetery in Rural Hall with Rev. Eric Larson and Rev. Emily Larson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 this evening, Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 357 Old Hollow Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
