Alma Branscomb

Alma Branscomb passed away on March 13, 2018 in Provo, Utah. She was born on June 17, 1926 on the family farm in Hillsville, Virginia to Cora Lee Robinson and Brooks Mitchell Edwards. She attended Woodlawn High School and was briefly enrolled in nursing school. She married Earl Frederick Branscomb (Sr.) in 1948 in Greenup, Kentucky.

Mom was always a great cook and big sister, helping to raise and feed her siblings. She continue to practice her maternal gifts with her own 5 children and one step-son. Mom and dad joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1957 and were very active through the remainder of their lives. Mom patiently waited to be reunited with dad for 30 years, after he preceded her in death in 1988. Mom was not just a home-maker, as she assisted dad in the family mobile home business and other enterprises.

Mom is survived by her children: Lionel (step-son) (Mona), Patty Wheeling (Don), Fred (Theresa), Tim (Beckie), John (Kim) and Lara Jackson; along with 20 grand-children, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to dad and her own parents, mom was preceded in death by all of her 7 brothers and sisters: Bernice, Mary Hundley, Clyde, Ethel Vass, Mamie Tomlinson, Billy and Swanson Edwards.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 4780 Westchester Road in Winston-Salem, NC, with a viewing prior to the funeral in the same location at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem, NC immediately following the funeral.

The family wishes to express our eternal gratitude to the many healthcare professionals who patiently served mom over the last 50 years, especially Dr. Spencer and Joann his assistant in Winston-Salem; along with the staff at Hospice and several care centers in Utah. God bless you all for your many acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy at our loss.
