Alma Gray Lupton Boyd

MIDWAY-Mrs. Alma Gray Lupton Boyd, 87, of Midway, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Boyd was born on March 6, 1925 Beaufort, NC to Guy Everett and Annis Lupton. Alma was a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome, NC and enjoyed camping, gardening and all kinds of flowers. Preceding Mrs. Boyd in death were her husband, James Leggett Boyd; her parents, and a son, Jim Boyd. Surviving Mrs. Boyd are her daughters, Faye Bardwell of Oak Harbor, Washington and Teresa Contreras of Lexington, NC; one son, Charles Boyd, Sr. of Lexington, NC; four grandchildren, Kim Humbarger (Don) of Marysville, Washington, Charles Boyd, Jr. of Winston-Salem, Michelle Cooper (Chris) of Concord, NC and Derek Sawyer of Concord, NC; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Welcome, NC with Pastor Mark Blair and Chaplain Charlie Patrick officiating. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Darla Hoots, Gena Wolfe, and Renee James for the care they provided to Alma during her illness. The family would also like to say a special thank you to Hospice of Davidson County, especially Alma's nurse, Kristen and social worker Wendy for the care they provided.
