Alleen R. McLaughlin, former resident of West Elizabeth died peacefully in the home of her family in Winston-Salem, NC, July 25, 2012. Born August 18, 1922 in Jefferson Twp, Alleen was a 1940 graduate of Clairton High School. She retired from U.S.S. Irvin Works after 31 years of service. She was a tin sorter, the first woman to hold this position in the Irvin Plant. Preceding her in death, was her father, James Simon Stevens, mother, Nellie Boyd Stevens, sister, Lois Pascoe and brothers, James and Ray Stevens. Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Pfaff and son-in-law, Chris of Winston-Salem, NC, brother, Frank Stevens and wife, Irene of Clariton, PA, and several nieces and nephews. The family requests donations, to Hospice Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
