Allan Stewart Parker

Mr. Allan Stewart Parker, 58, of Lexington, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Parker was born on January 13, 1954 in Cherokee County, NC to the late Vaughn Kenneth Parker and Barbara Mostellar Parker. After graduating from Parkland High School, Mr. Parker enlisted in the United States Army where he spent time in the Republic of Korea, DMZ. After his service to his country, Mr. Parker joined the Winston-Salem Fire Department where he was currently a Captain. He was of the Baptist faith and an avid hunter and fisherman. Preceding Mr. Parker in death were his parents. Surviving Mr. Parker are his wife, Carole Achilles of the home; a daughter, Amanda Parker Piedmont (Jeff) of Morganton, NC; a son, Ryan Stuart Parker of Winston-Salem; two step-daughters, Tara Atkins of Winston-Salem and Elicia Goldberg (Ian) of Safety Harbor, Florida; two grandchildren, John and Grace Piedmont; two step-grandchildren, Jocelyn Scoggins and Gabriel Braswell; one brother, Marlin Parker (Judy) of Lexington, NC; a sister, Sylvia Parker Sapp (Tim) of Lexington, NC; two nieces, Tina Parker Stephenson (Blake) of Winston-Salem and Jana Parker of Lexington, NC; two aunts, Alene Starnes (Dale) of Granite Falls, NC and Reba Daves (Martin) of Andrews, NC. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Mike Lamm officiating. Burial will be on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews, NC with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
