Alice "Marie" Sewell Hemric

Mrs. Alice “Marie” Sewell Hemric, 68, of Gladys, VA, passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on Sunday, December 26, 2021.  Marie was born in Rockingham County, NC on July 16, 1953, to the late Ralph Gordon Sewell and Marjorie Eva Case.  Marie spent her career in textiles and worked most of that career with Stevcoknit Fabrics Manufacturing in Greensboro.  In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Gaither Hemric; a great grandchild, Logan; two brothers, Julius Sewell and Tommy Sewell; and one sister, Wanda Sewell Ryan.  She is survived by her sons, Lance Hemric and wife, Lorraine, Alan Hemric and wife, Kim, and Adam Hemric; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Marie is also survived by her sister, Beverly Potts and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was an amazing caretaker for her family, especially for her granddaughter, Tina.  Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Ronda, NC, officiated by Pastor Richard Nunn.  The family is accepting flowers or memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
