Winston-Salem – Mrs. Alice Ayres Idol, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Oak Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 14, 1939 in Marion County, South Carolina to Charles and Addie Ayres.
Alice was a long time member of Berean Baptist Church. She retired from The Pantry after 25 years. In her retirement she became an avid Bingo player. She was definitely a people person and she will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by one daughter, Kitty Louise Bass; one brother; and four sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Buelin; one son, Weaver Bass; four grandchildren, Shannon Buelin, Alisha Buelin, JB Bass, and Christy; two great grandchildren, Taylor Newell (Alex) and Makayla Buelin; two great great grandchildren, Riley Buelin and Vanessa Newell; two sisters, her twin, Janice Ayres, and Gwendolyn Melton (Charles); two brothers, Pendleton Ayres (Sheila) and Tommy Ayres (Wanda); and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel on Sunday, November 14, 2021. A private graveside service for Alice will be held in South Carolina.
