Alice Arlene Berrier Harris

Alice Arlene Berrier Harris, 92, of Lexington, NC, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at her home. She was born to the late Johnson Clarence Berrier and Mabel Arlene Craver Berrier on December 12, 1931, in Davidson County, NC.

Arlene was an active member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church for 71 years where she taught the Ladies Class and Sunday School class for 60 years. She was a charter member of the church, sang in the choir, and served as treasurer of the church for a time. Arlene organized the Christmas program for many years as well. In her spare time, she worked selling plants and baked cakes at the farmers market for 35 years, she was known as the "Cake Lady". Arlene suffered a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis and had recently been diagnosed with other medical conditions. She was an example to many people over the years as a dedicated Christian. She will be remembered as a humble woman and someone who was always willing to help anyone in need.

In addition to her parents, Arlene is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roy Clayton Harris. She is survived by her son, Clayton Harris (Sherri); daughter, Karan Miller (Gary); grandchildren, Julie Harrison (Brandon), Amy Simmons (Joseph), Ashley Thomas (Lewis), Kelly Owens (Richie), and Beth Smith (Joseph); 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas C. "Pete" Berrier; nephew, Wayne Berrier (Cindy); three great-nephews; and special cousin, Gerri Essick.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church. The visitation will be held Monday, the night prior, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the church. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ben Farrell and Dr. Ron Baity.
