WALKERTOWN Mrs. Alice Stokes Pinnix Amos, 88, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012. She was born in Yadkin Co. on February 8, 1924 the daughter of the late Luther Carl Stokes and Sara Melinda Stokes. Mrs. Amos was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown and had retired from Langenthal Inc. she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wavlin Glen Pinnix, her second husband, Charles Roy ""Bud"" Amos Jr., a son, Roger Amos, a sister, Rose Hudspeth and three brothers. Mrs. Amos is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Spainhour of Walkertown, Wavlin Lee Pinnix of Winston-Salem and Kathleen Oakley (Brice) of Germanton, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Velma Walls (Ledford) of Walkertown. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Elder Milton Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
