Mr. Alfred Franklin Tyree Sr., 95, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born in Richcreek, West Virginia to the late Thomas and Mary Blevins Tyree. Mr. Tyree retired from Ridge Tool Co in Elyria, OH as a painter. He proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death two sons, Allen Tyree and Larry Tyree. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Burrow Tyree of the home, three sons, Alfred Tyree Jr. of Elyria, OH, Ronald Tyree and wife Regina of Elyria, OH and Ricky Tyree of Lexington, OK, two daughters, Susan Walls and husband Wayne of Louisville, KY and Victoria Ray and husband Kevin of Elyria, OH and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his four step-children, Bill Kiger and wife Vondeen of Rural Hall, Richard Kiger and wife Jean of Rural Hall, Mike Kiger and wife Alice of King and Brenda Cornwell of King. A prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 this evening, March 19, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall with Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating. The family will receive friends this evening March 19, 2010 from 7-9 following the prayer service. Services and burial will be held in Elyria, OH at a later date.
