Aleene Mildred Crater

Aleene Mildred Weatherman Crater, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Homestead Hills. 

Mrs. Crater was born February 5, 1934, in Forsyth County, to Al Weatherman and Mildred Windsor Weatherman. She was a member of Christ Moravian Church. In addition to her parents, Aleene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Crater. 

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Mark Crater (Page), and Chuck Crater (Susan); one daughter, Robbie Disher; grandchildren, Cameron Winfree (Derek), Bryce Disher (Heather), Beth Wilkerson (Stephen), Jack Crater (Grace), and Thomas Crater; great-grandchildren, Addie Winfree, Maddox Winfree, Cora Winfree, Kinsley Disher, Charlotte Wilkerson, Barrett Wilkerson, and Ella Wilkerson.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Christ Moravian Church with Pastor Reed Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ Moravian Church 919 W Academy St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, or to Sunnyside Ministry.
