Aldine Jones Clodfelter, 88, went home to heaven on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Tara Plantation Assisted Living in Cumming, GA. She was born October 26, 1920 in Surry County to the late Nat Blackwood Jones Sr. and Lola Susan Bass Jones. As a toddler, her family moved to Winston-Salem where she lived most of her life in the Waughtown area. For many years she helped her parents run Jones Grocery Store on Sprague Street. In September 1941 she married Jack T. Clodfelter, the love of her life. Aldine was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church, working in the nursery and faithful in attendance as long as her health allowed. She loved the Lord, her church, and was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. Her favorite leisure activities were knitting, crocheting, and reading. In September 2008 she moved to Georgia to be near her daughter and family. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile that lit up her face. Mrs. Clodfelter was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack; their infant daughter Susan; and her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Nat and Louise Jones. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, June and Tom Temples of Cumming, GA; granddaughter, Heather Temples of Cumming, GA; grandson and wife, Matthew and Taryn Temples of Alpharetta, GA; plus her dearly loved friends, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Brian King officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
