Blackburn
On Friday morning, January 9, 2015 our beloved father and grandfather, Aldine (AL) Blackburn, went home to be with our Lord, and be reunited with his dearly loved wife Barbara Anne Staples Blackburn, brother Shirly James (Chuck) Blackburn, his father Arley Theo (Eli) and mother Kizzie Maie Blackburn.
Al is survived by his son Aldine (Dean) Blackburn Jr., grandson Aldine (Bo) Blackburn III, granddaughter-in-law, Jaye Johneka Blackburn, brother Otis Clay (Shorty) Blackburn, nephew Charles Blackburn, niece Crissy Blackburn, cousins Suze Cotheren and Barbara Hall, extended family members Melissa and Chris Smith, Annas Durham, special family friends David and Joy Beaver, Joe and Patty Kiser and too many long-time close friends to mention here.
Al was deeply devoted to his family. He was an intelligent man who loved to read and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. He was a kind, patient and thoughtful man who always put other's first. He was loved by everyone he met.
Al had a love and passion for automobiles and racing and was a driver in the Dixie circuit which was the fore runner to Nascar. He was a Mason and continually supported their generous causes in the community. Al retired from McLean Trucking Company after 35 years of service. We shall miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel, with visitation at 1:00pm before the service. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
