Alda Mae Johnson, 91, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Brighton Gardens in Charlotte. She was born November 17, 1921 in Forsyth County to Lonnie Lee and Bertha Mae Wright Johnson. Alda was a beloved sister, and a loving aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. She was retired from Hanes Knitting and was known for her delightful sense of humor and love for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Vincent, Lonnie and Elam Johnson; and her sisters, Arnette Newsom, Josie Walker and Jessie Milner. Surviving is her brother, Darwin Tip Johnson, and his wife Patricia Kelly Johnson of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Hugh Milner; and sister-in-law, Pansy ""Pam"" Johnson. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Whit Gillon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
