Albert "Bud" Harmon

Mr. Albert “Bud” Lionel Harmon, 84, of Walkertown, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  Bud was born in Van Buren County, Arkansas on October 11, 1938, to the late Jonah Lionel Harmon and Ruth Lunsford Harmon.  He served his country in the United States Army.  Bud worked as a truck driver most of his life, retiring from Schwerman Trucking Company after many years of service.  He enjoyed bluegrass music and especially enjoyed playing at The Blue Ridge Music Center in Galax, VA.  In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Seldomridge; granddaughter, Michelle Harmon; and ten brothers and sisters.  Bud is survived by his wife, Connie Baumgardner Harmon of the home; five children, Donald Bauguess of Walkertown, Cynthia Bell of Cascade, VA, Michael Harmon of Winston-Salem, Tina Weaver of Rural Hall, and Tonya Torres of Germanton; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  He is also survived by special friends, Ed Baumgardner of Winston-Salem, Shane Kelley and Wendy Boyd, both of Walkertown; and sisters-in-law, Zella Nance of Jonesville, NC, Darlene Romero of Mt. Airy, NC, and Glen and Drema Daughtrey of Low Gap, NC.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, www.alzfdn.org.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Harmon.
