Alberta Craft Parker, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Hospice in Winston-Salem. She was born in Lewisville on January 19, 1915 to Albert and Sue Styers Craft. She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church and taught Bible studies and Sunday School for over 50 years. She was also engaged in many mission activities of the church. In addition, she worked with the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina. Alberta attended UNCG for 2 years then graduated from Appalachian State University. She taught in the public schools of both Forsyth and Stokes Counties. After her husband passed, Alberta served as a volunteer for the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention until 1988. Places of service were the islands of Hawaii, locations in Alaska; Bozeman, Montana; Idaho and communities in Alabama. She also participated in four World Mission Conferences for the North Carolina State Missions. Preceding her in death was her husband, Allen (Buddy) Parker, 7 sisters, Millie Moser, Edna Craft, Elma Doss, Margaret Sheets, Lucille Holleman, Lucy Sheets, and Blanch Williams; 4 brothers, Roy, Clement, Thomas and Joe Craft. She is survived by 1 son, Richard and his wife Pam; 2 grandsons, Mark and Todd; 2 great grandsons, Steven and Chase and 1 great granddaughter, Emily Grace and Jackie Parker the wife of Todd. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel
