Mr. Albert Dan Gale of Mocksville, NC passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, June 9, 2024, one day after celebrating his 89th birthday and his youngest grandson’s upcoming high school graduation. Born in Stowe, Vermont to Charles and Ruth Gale, he grew up on the family dairy farm. He became an accomplished skier, serving on the Mt. Mansfield Ski Patrol, and as a member of the U.S. Air Force cross-country team while stationed in Alaska. Next, he attended the University of New Hampshire. His love for country music, dancing and calling square dances led him to one where he met his lifelong dance partner and beloved wife of 64 ½ years, Beverly Currier Gale. After his retirement from Guilford Mills, Inc. he pursued his passions for gardening (winning multiple ribbons for his pumpkins), working on tractors, rebuilding motors, and accumulating and nurturing a variety of pets. He was a Friend of Bill for over 45 years and enjoyed ministering to others. In addition to his recently departed, treasured dog, Heidi, Albert was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Gale; a niece, Jennifer; a nephew, Georgie and a great-granddaughter, Emma. His story will be preserved as a Husband to wife, Beverly Gale; Dad/Daddy to Trina Messick (Jody), Edwin Gale (Kim), Dennis Gale (Marla), Tony Gale (Jackie), and bonus daughter, Karrie Gale; “Grampy” to his grandchildren, Amber (Wes), Jamey (Brooke), Brandon (Kathryn), Adam, Garrett, Justin (Kassady), Ashlee, Evan and great grandchildren, Makenzie, Noah, Easton, Lillie, Avery and Karson. He was much-loved by his sisters, Lena Allen, Mary Douglass and EmmaLou Craig, brother in-law, Mervin Currier (Pat), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends all of which he enjoyed following on FB. A special thank you to Jessica, Mom’s caregiver, as she assisted us all with keeping up with him. A Celebration of Life Service will be this Summer. “In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davie County Rescue Squad, David County Senior Services or Davie County Animal Shelter.”
