Mr. Alan Douglas Larson, 73, of Kernersville, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Alan was born February 21, 1942 in Stamford, CT to the late Walter Raymond Larson and Jean Lang Larson. After graduating from Stamford High School in 1960, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force Intelligence Branch from 1964 to 1968 and also earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from UConn. In 1969, he began working at IBM for what would be a tenure of 20 plus years. Alan retired as owner of I3 Solutions Computer Consulting. A huge sports fan, Alan had a real passion for UConn men and women's basketball as well as the Boston Red Sox. He was also an avid tennis player and member of the Winston-Salem USTA. In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Stuart Larson, and brother, Raymond Craig Larson.
Left to cherish Alan's memory are his wife, Martha Thomas Larson; children, Courtney Romine, Scott Larson (Tiffany), Megan Brady (Kevin), and Griffin Larson; and four grandchildren, Laura and Emily Romine, Ashleigh Larson, and Jaden Brady.
A celebration of Alan's life will be held Friday, September 11, 2015 at 6 pm at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel, 108 East Kinderton Way, Advance, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
