Alan Richard Cross

Winston-Salem – Alan Richard Cross, 76, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Atrium Health – Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Herkimer County, NY to the late Richard and Edna Mills Cross. Alan was a proud United States Marine Corps Combat Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a hardworking man that enjoyed fixing things around the house and doing yard work. Alan valued his friends and friendships from his past, trying his best to keep in touch with them often. He was known to have a tough exterior at times, but also was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will surely be missed.

 n addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bettie Hemby Cross; and two brothers, Dennis, and Ronald Cross.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeffery Cross (Sundari Parekh) of Atlanta, GA, Lisa Cross (Tony Rando) of Mohawk, NY, Chuck Butler, and Angela Slayon (David) both of Kernersville, NC; and four grandchildren, Amber Butler, Seth Slaydon, Hannah Slaydon, and Bodhi Cross.

There are no formal services at this time. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
