Aimo Armas Mikkola

KERNERSVILLE - Aimo Armas Mikkola, 72, an amazing and loving husband and father who courageously fought cancer for twelve years, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his home. He was born April 17, 1941 in Finland to the late Yrjo and Eine Niemi Mikkola and has lived in the United States for 50 years. Aimo was a member of First Christian Church in Kernersville. He was a self- employed land developer; a man of many trades. A Finnish man with SISU. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Tuula Luoma Mikkola of the home; daughter, Monika Mikkola-Davis and husband, Josh of Walkertown; son, Mika Mikkola of Kernersville; three brothers, Erkki Mikkola and wife, Karin of Kernersville, Leo Mikkola and wife, Ritva of OR, Esa Mikkola and wife, Sirkka of Finland; one sister, Terttu Kytola and husband, Jaska of IL.
