Adrienne Irene Parkinson Jackson

Adrienne Irene Parkinson Jackson, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. She was born in New York City, NY, on September 29, 1943, to the late George and Irene Johnson Parkinson. She married the love of her life on August 21, 1965, and went on to spend 59 years together with her soulmate, Ernest. Adrienne was exceptionally caring. She spent over twenty years of her life taking care of seniors providing care and companionship at various facilities including Marriott and Brighton Gardens. Adrienne left a lasting impression on every person she helped, primarily seniors. Adrienne was a kind, generous, patient, and optimistic person, who had an unmatched sense of humor. Her love for animals was unparalleled, as she and her husband lovingly cared for and raised 11 dogs together. She cared about her family more than anything. Her love for her husband and two daughters was beyond compare. In the latter years of her life, Adrienne and Ernest were residents of the Good Samaritan Society in Kissimmee Village, FL, where they attended church and were active members of the community. She faced Alzheimer’s disease with remarkable strength, maintaining a positive and upbeat spirit throughout her journey. She will be deeply missed by the many friends she made across the states where she lived. 

In addition to her parents, Adrienne is preceded in death by her sister, Joan Spain. 

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Ernest Jackson; Daughters, Lorienne McNally and Caron Harrigan; sons-in-law John McNally and Rob Harrigan; grandchildren Allyson McNally, Trevor Harrigan, and Alec Harrigan; a niece, Michelle Spain Allen and husband Dennis Allen; as well as a great-nephew, Martin Allen.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Francis Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's foundation at 322 8th Ave, New York, NY 10001.
