Ada Aligood Fisher

Mrs. Ada Aligood Fisher,86, of Winston-Salem and Tallahassee, FL died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 12, 1923 in Iron City GA, the daughter of the late, Joseph and Lilla Ard Aligood. Mrs. Fisher attended business college in Albany, GA and upon graduation moved to Tallahassee in 1945 where she worked as a bookkeeper first at Tallahassee Office Supply and later at Wheeler Building Supply. In 1956 she married Haynes Fisher who preceded her in death in 1994. She was a loving mom and grandmother. She volunteered her time as a Grey Lady at Ruediger Elementary School in the early 1960's. She loved to sew, cook and do all types of crafts. In recent years she has divided her time between Tallahassee and Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Aligood. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Beth Fisher Holliday and husband, Rob of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Angie Snyder and husband, Joe and Randy Beck and wife, Sarah of Winston-Salem; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Jackson and Eli Snyder; one brother, James Aligood and wife, Dorothy of Iron City; nieces and nephews and many special long-time friends and ""adopted"" children. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee and Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2:00 PM at Abbey-Riposta Funeral Home Chapel in Tallahassee, FL. Burial will follow in Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Mt.
