Kernersville- William "Bill" Douglas Marlowe, 84, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at his home. Bill was born on September 8, 1933 in Iredell County to Dewey and Erby Shoemaker Marlowe. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Flowers Bakery after many years of service. Bill was an avid bowler and a familiar face at Countryside Bowling Lanes.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Marlowe.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen Hendrix (Josh) of Mocksville; a son, Craig Marlowe (Yvonne) of Lewisville; two granddaughters, Shea Marlowe and Anna Hendrix; one sister, Frances Shockley of Powhatan, VA; special friends, Mickey Dudley and Wayne Bell; and his many bowling companions from the Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday Leagues at Countryside.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
