Tonya Stone

Ms. Tonya Bledsoe Stone, 48, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was born on April 4, 1970 in Gaston County to Johnny Bledsoe and Judith Bowen Bledsoe. Tonya was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, where she served on the children’s ministry team. She loved to read. Tonya will be remembered for being a loving mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her mother; brother, Mark Bledsoe; infant brother, Jason Bledsoe; and infant grandson, Leo Ledford. Surviving family includes her father, Johnny Bledsoe (Sue); son, Michael Keith Stone, Jr. of Winston-Salem; daughter, Cristin Stone of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Gloria and Damon Ledford; and sister, Jennifer Bledsoe of Gastonia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating. A committal service will follow at the church columbarium. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses, CNA’s, social workers, doctors, and all other staff members for the excellent care they provided for Tonya.
