Thomas Martin “Tommy” Childress, 75, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on October 28, 2021. Tommy was born on June 23, 1946, to David Martin Childress and Ruby Vawter Childress (Linville) in Forsyth County. For over 30 years, he worked for Tuttle Lumber Company. Tommy enjoyed his job and loved his co-workers, particularly, his two bosses Kent and Rick. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his Step-Dad, Phillip G. Linville; a sister, Mary, and a brother, David. Surviving are his sisters, Patricia Speaks, Debbie Waddell (Jimmy); brothers, Douglas Childress and Richard Gray Linville; a special nephew, David New; and a large extended family and many friends.  A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Association or Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
