Ruth Anderson

Ruth Wilcox Anderson, 90, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at her home.  She was born June 21, 1928 in Ashe County to the late Floyd Wilcox and Bessie Grogan Wilcox.  Ruth was a long-standing member at Woodland Baptist Church.  She was known for keeping her yard in pristine condition, mowing up until just a few weeks before her passing.  Ruth retired from Adams Millis as a fork lift driver with 21 years of service.  Following her retirement, she went back to school to receive her CNA license.  In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.  She is survived by her daughter, Melinda “Mindy” Childress; son, David Anderson (Christy); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and friends dear to her; and her loving dog, Cuddles.  A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, June 4 at Woodland Baptist Church with Bro. Vick Pyles officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the service at the church.  The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Hospice for their loving care of Ruth.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
