Mr. Robert “Bobby” Edwin Goforth, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019. He was born November 18, 1936 in Forsyth County to Ozelle Clodfelter Goforth and Claude Goforth. Mr. Goforth was a member of Immanuel/ New Eden Moravian Church where he was the head usher and a student of the Bible. He retired from Bahnson Company after 30 years of service. He enjoyed sharing vegetables from his garden, wood carving and working in his shop. Most important, Mr. Goforth was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth Layell Goforth; three brothers, Ted Clodfelter, Curtis Goforth and Rayvon Goforth and a sister, Faye Logan. Surviving are his two daughters, Linda Fansler and Cindy Trott and husband Brad, all of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Andrew Fansler, Kerri Harville and husband Stephen and Kimberly Fansler; one great grandchild, Liv; one brother, Tommy Goforth and wife Kaye of Winston-Salem; one sister-in-law, Sue Goforth of Winston-Salem and extended family members. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, February 18, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Cheryl Cottingham and Rev. Steve Craver officiating. Interment will follow in Friedberg Moravian Church graveyard. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to thank Celena and Carrie of Trellis Supportive Care and the staff of Bayada. Memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care or to Immanuel/ New Eden Moravian Church.
